The cheapest and easiest way to protect your knees is to use knee pads.
These are completely plastic-free and consist only of white and gray wool, nothing else. The wool protection kneepad becomes cup-shaped after a period of use.

This is a fully Swedish product, meaning domestic wool where all processing steps have taken place within the country. The wool is collected on Gotland and in Central Sweden, washed by the Wool Factory on Gotland and then sent to a factory in Halland which cards, needlefelts and cuts out the finished product.
